Arch Card Tutorial with Press Plates

Good morning! Kathy here!  today I’m up on the LDRS Creative blog with a new arch card tutorial.
I need some birthday cards in the next few months. So today we will play with a few new products and use a few techniques to create a bright and cheerful birthday card.

Here are the products used for today’s card:
Today’s card is an A2 top folding card. Let’s get the base out of the way first next take a piece of white card stock approximately 4.25” x 5.5”
Use your letterpress machine place the Wildflower frame Impression plate plate down, and secure the card stock to the top plate next you will run this through your die-cutting machine according to your instruction manual. We aren’t using any ink for this step. Isn't it a beautiful plate? Foiled, colored, or pressed this image is stunning! It creates a perfect frame for your sentiment with minimal effort!

After it is letterpressed, ink-blend some pale pink ink around the edges of the rectangle. Now, find a panel of colored card stock. I used a bright pink.  Using the third largest die in the Arches die set, center your die and cut.
Glue directly on top of the letter-pressed Wildflowers Frame panel. Make sure to center the rectangle in the center of the arch
I used the Doodle flower die set and cut three of the small blooms, along with their centers. The flowers were cut from the pink leftover from the arch we cut earlier. The centers of the flowers and the leaves were cut from white card stock. Once I cut the flower centers and leaves, I ink-blended them using the inks mentioned above.
For the focal point, I'm using one of the Celebrate sentiment arches that I foiled for a previous project and didn’t use. That is the beauty of the LDRS Creative impression dies they can be used for letter pressing, hot foiling, and embossing. I am honestly in love with the versatility of these plates.
The happy birthday sentiment was pressed with tickled pink hybrid ink. I added the leaves and flowers with glue. Foam tape was added to the back of the panel and adhered to my card.
I hope you enjoyed this card tutorial. If you have any questions, please leave a comment below. We look forward to hearing from you and seeing your projects.
